Have Questions About Our Services?
General Questions
During your first appointment, we will begin by discussing your health history, goals, and any areas of pain or discomfort you are experiencing. Depending on the service you are receiving, we may also perform a physical assessment and create a customized treatment plan.
Gait analysis is the study of how a person walks or runs, including the movement of their feet, legs, hips, and other body parts. Gait analysis can be used to identify issues with walking or running patterns that may be contributing to pain or injury, such as imbalances in muscle strength, joint stiffness, or poor alignment. Gait analysis can involve a visual observation of the individual’s gait pattern, as well as the use of specialized equipment such as motion-capture cameras to analyze the movement in more detail. The results of gait analysis can be used to develop a treatment plan or exercise program to address any identified issues and improve overall function and mobility.
Myofascial release is a type of manual therapy that involves applying gentle pressure and stretching to the body’s fascia, which is a connective tissue that surrounds and supports muscles, bones, and organs. Myofascial release is used to help relieve tension and restrictions within the fascia, which can result from injury, inflammation, or chronic stress. During a myofascial release session, the therapist will use their hands, fingers, or specialized tools to apply pressure to specific points on the body, typically in a slow and sustained manner. This can help to lengthen and stretch the fascia, release adhesions or scar tissue, and promote greater range of motion and ease of movement. Myofascial release can be used to treat a variety of conditions, such as back pain, neck pain, headaches, and postural imbalances, among others.
The frequency that we recommend for scheduling will depend on your individual needs and goals, as well as the type of treatment you are receiving. For massage therapy, we often recommend scheduling sessions on a weekly or bi-weekly basis, especially if you are dealing with chronic pain or injury. Regular massage therapy can help to release tension, reduce pain, and improve overall function and mobility. If you are using massage therapy for relaxation or stress relief, scheduling occasional sessions may be sufficient. For movement therapy/personal training, we often recommend scheduling sessions 2-3 times per week to help build strength, flexibility, and balance. Regular practice is essential for achieving results and maintaining progress over time. Exercise is important for building strength, improving cardiovascular health, and achieving weight loss or other fitness goals. We are happy to discuss your goals and work with you to create a customized scheduling plan that meets your needs and helps you achieve the best possible results.
